Misconceptions of Emotions and how they affect our lives
Date : January 17, 2023
For the first event, we went in depth about emotion and ways to deal with it. We went into breakout groups to try to figure out how to deal with intense emotion. I like the way I was able to speak which often in zoom meetings you have to chat instead of use your actual voice and tone. Ways to deal with anger and other intense emotion was a part of this lesson.

How Coral Gables is reimagining our world through data
Date : February 7, 2023

During the lecture about Coral Gables we dived deep into their database and looked into what they have to offer. They get a lot of data including traffic and nature with numbers that represent tree counts and more. Very nice to know that we can all access this data and that it was made possible by a fellow panther.

January 24, 2023

For the second event, we went over antisemitism and the way that Jewish people deal with and have dealt with prejudice. I think that it was very sad that they go through those things. I also think that going over ways this can be avoided is also very important and aids to future changes for the Jewish community.

New York Times Speaker Series- The secret sauce to revolutions
March 14, 2023

In the secret sauce to revolutions we understood the importance of women. My favorite part of this segment were the great questions asked at the end pertaining the voices of women in protest and revolutionary changes. I also learned about how women are the reason wars ended and a lot of groups that were put in place to make changes were there due to women being the ones that started them. A organization that we all know about “ Black Lives Matter” was started by women.
